Outstanding service. Thank you for a great experience for Pixie.
Our visit to Windmill with Dr. Price was a good experience. We spent a lot of time discussing my dog's health and a plan of action for her. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask all the questions I needed to and got straight answers. I feel like the practice charges more than other vets in the area but the quality of care seems well worth the expense.
Our cat had a dental with a tooth removal. I called a few times throughout the day and the staff was always very friendly and kept me updated on how he was doing. The procedure was completed in a timely manner and I was able to pick him up at 3pm the same day. At pick up the staff explained to me what to watch for with the post anesthesia. We were very satisfied with the level of attention and care he got while he was there. We are so glad to have found a great vet in the Abilene area! We highly recommend this clinic.
Great care! Would not go anywhere else, we have a sweet cat that turns into the beast from hades at the vets but they are so good with her and patient, I am always impressed when we visit oh and it smells good too, lol
Would appreciate if a prescription could be offered to get medications discounted elsewhere. A $400 bill out of pocket is prohibitive. For a dog. Work with us please else there will be a time we won't be able to seek medical help.
Thank you for the review. The doctors at Windmill Animal Hospital routinely call in prescriptions and authorize prescription requests on a daily basis. We work hard to help find the best price for medications for our patients. Many of the medications used to help dogs and cats are veterinary-only, so they aren't available from "human" pharmacies. Also, a little known fact: most of the inexpensive prescription medications, that are available to humans with insurance for $4 or less, are amazingly expensive for a veterinary patient. Example: one of our clients had a large labrador recovering from reconstructive knee surgery; our client was purchasing Tramadol 50 mg tabs, 250 count at a time, from us for about $35.00. He asked his pharmacy how much Tramadol would be for his dog--the pharmacy quoted $69.95 for 100 count of tablets!
Since this review is "anonymous" it is difficult for us to address the specific concerns the reviewer brings up. However, since Windmill Animal Hospital provides a detailed estimate before performing any veterinary services, and discusses treatment options and costs once a treatment plan is developed, it is puzzling why this client's financial concerns weren't discussed with us during the veterinary visit. Thank you again for the review.
