I recently got contacts. I feel that I wasn't presented options, and when I asked for them the woman at the desk was frustrated with me and was saying she'd have to call all these people and I'd have to come back in and see the dr. Again. Contacts are expensive. I want to make the most economical and comfortable decision. And I felt I was being berated and that the woman at the desk was taking it personally that I might want monthly contacts, or a different brand to try. I'll probably go somewhere else to get my next box of contacts and be able to try my options there.
I am Ellen the practice manager and optician for Thomas Eye Center. I was part of the team that assisted you at front desk yesterday. Your exam was March 25, we saw you again a month later on April 25th and again today on August 26. We cheerfully did not charge you for today's visit, however it was outside of the time limit we give for contact lens progress evals after the initial exam. I personally offered you a dx pair of monthly contact lenses at no charge to you but I did advise you would be responsible for an office visit charge because Dr. Thomas would require to see the lenses on your eyes to verify the fit. My apologies for you feeling berated, we don't take it personally that you would want to try different contact lenses and we do all we can to assist. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to call me at 706-549-7757.
