I've had a life-long fear of going to the dentist, a kind of PTSD, I think. My early experiences with a dentist who never used novocaine, braces and a gingivectomy done at Pitt Dental School, and a very painful root canal many, many years ago, are the basis of my automatic fear response. Dr. Crandall is doing all of the right things to gain my trust. He's very proactive (prescribing antibiotics and Anaprox before procedures) and has the latest and greatest equipment and computer systems for showing himself and me what's going on. Dr. Crandall is wonderfully skilled and has an amazing chair-side manner! This year, he's done three root canals and finished the second half of a dental implant for me. In a few weeks, he's going to do another implant which I'm actually not dreading. To anyone who knows me, that says a lot!
