I arrived early so I could freshen up after lunch. I was greeted at the door and given a brief tour, and then went to the restroom. There was a disposable toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, and mouthwash in the bathroom, along with fresh towels. After a brief wait until my appointment time, in which I took a full-sized bottle of water from the waiting room beverage area, I was called back on time.

As it was my first dental appointment in years, they performed a full battery of tests. I was x-rayed, lasered, cleaned, and examined by the kind and knowledgeable staff. They made sure I was always comfortable.

I appreciated their thorough exam and questions, and they answered every one of my questions, no matter how stupid. The fact that they were able to work with my lack of insurance and give me a great deal and payment plan meant I finally felt like a real patient; so often, when you don't have insurance, you're treated like you're poor or not deserving of the same treatment as the Insureds. I appreciate Star Ranch Dental for treating me like the princess I envision myself to be.

There was no rush and no stress, and payment was easy; the receipt is detailed, which is great for anal-retentive personalities like me. I also took advantage of the paraffin wax service, which made my hands happy.

I fully recommend Star Ranch Dental. Darcy Poen was my dental hygienist, and she, Dr. Barnett, and the rest of the team made drooling on myself worth it. Thank you for a great visit!

The hygiene staff are so caring and polite. When I interacted with Dr. Barnett he was condescending and quite cold. He acted like my questions were a waste of his time. He also was rough and hurt my mouth a bit. I have been to many dentists in my life, and never had a dentist be so rude and callous. I mentioned him to a friend of mine and she said that her neighbor had the same experience.

Though everyone at Star Ranch Dental had impeccable manners and were friendly and seemed nice, my fears of dental offices and oral medical treatment were confirmed. It is inexcusable for any medical practise to inflict pain upon a patient in this age of medical advancements and technology. There absolutely has to be a means to deaden and prep an area so the patient is not in a tortured state while being treated. The responsibility for this prepared condition, inevitably and rightfully so falls upon the highest ranking medical professional in charge. The old adage of when we first fail then try and try again does not mean forage ahead with full steam to accomplish the mission at hand. Symptoms of pain are a red light and progress should not be continued until the patient is comfortably out of pain. This can not happen, ever again. It was a very traumatic day for me, one I've experienced many times before. But the past is the past, it's what we do in the future that counts.
