This is not a practice I can wholeheartedly recommend for kids. I have taken my 8-year-old boy there for a couple years. Our experiences have been up and down, but after our last visit, we will likely not be back.
Just like all dental practices, it all depends on which technician you get. One technician has been fantastic and patient with my son. The most recent one though has likely ruined all the positive groundwork laid for him to not despise and fear the dentist. She was impatient and bossy with both me and my 8-year-old and made it very clear that she preferred me in the waiting room and not with him. The final straw for me was when she brought him out to me, all puffy-faced and on the verge of tears, and then repeatedly asked me to come to the back to discuss the dentist's findings. That was not an appropriate time for her to be impatient. She basically asked me to postpone comforting my (clearly upset) child, in favor of speaking with the dentist. Why not ask me to come back to the exam room and keep my son and me together while we discuss? Why send a frightened and miserable child to the waiting room and then remove his parent? And naturally, I didn't hear a word the dentist said, because my mind was with my son.
I would have waited weeks for a different appointment time, if it meant having a technician who is good with kids.
