The actual work that Service Master did was excellent, however their service was sub-par. I specifically instructed the appointment manager to tell the crew not to arrive before 9:00am as we don't open until then. However, they arrived 20 minutes early and our Secretary had to be called in early to meet them. The two employees who arrived smelled VERY strongly of smoke and our office had to be aired out after they left. I don't have a preference of what habits people choose to have outside of work, but as a company whose goal is to clean homes and businesses, your employees should not leave an odor behind. We also asked the employees for an estimate before they started working. They provided us with an estimate, however, when they were finished they said that their estimate was way off and the amount charged would be doubled what they initially said. I understand how estimates work and that they are not exact, however we would not have hired the job if we had known the final cost. It is poor business practice to charge double the estimate if there are no major issues that arise during work.
