Initially I thought I had found a reputable Dentist in northern Westchester County. After having a root canal done, I complained about a pain I've been having in my jaw. To make a long story short, I was told that I had TMJ.

After spending a considerable amount of money, I continued to go back and complain about the pain. He finally recommended me to a different doctor, who pointed out that I had been misdiagnosed by Dr. Rifkin. What I actually had was a crack and a hole in my jaw from an infection coming from the area where I had my root canal done.

After 18 months, I've had 3 surgeries and a major jaw replacement procedure. When I confronted Dr. Rifkin about the misdiagnosis, and the charges, his resolution was to give me a portion back in a credit towards future dental work versus refunding the full amount. To top it off, I received a bill, for the first time, pertaining to work done over 2 years ago that I was never billed for until I confronted him about the refund.

Upon receiving the two year old bill, I suggested the amount get taken toward the credit and his response was threatening to take me to collections.
