Dr. Christina Chang-LeMone is a very nice person, however I will be returning to my previous dentist. My appointment for an exam and cleaning took a very long time, and I felt like the cleaning wasn't very thorough. I also question the many recommendations for follow up treatment. I will be seeking a second opinion.

Dr. Chang takes allows 1 1/2 hours for her New Patient exams because she is very thorough. She checks for signs of oral cancer, tmj problems, gum disease, cavities. If she finds something abnormal, she may refer you to your medical doctor. Dr. Chang explains all of your treatment options and answers all questions so that you can make an informed decision.
This is one of the many things that separates her from a "HMO" type of practice where the doctor spends one or two minutes doing an exam. Perhaps, this is why your appointment took a little longer time. Dr. Chang does her best to provide the most comprehensive services available.

I had a cleaning and exam. This hygienist was better than the previous one. She was gentler when flossing and my gums did not bleed :-). Dr. Chang was thorough as she always is, and I enjoy going to her.

Dr, Chang-LeMone is an excellent dentist (on 1-5 scale with 1 as lowest, she gets a 5): she takes time to speak with her clients, offers solid information on dental issues and suggests optional remedies to address those issues; she is very friendly and knowledgeable and very professional. Her receptionist (rated a 4.5) is very warm, friendly and welcoming as well as professional. She looks like she knows what she's doing :-) Her dental hygenist/assistant (rated 3.5) is just ok: she was fine is surface cleaning but seemed to rush things a bit, and as a result, hit my teeth about 3 or 4 times with the electrical instrument, and was flossing a little too quickly that she hit my gums unnecessarily with the floss. That hurt and I felt she could have been a little more gentle with the floss. She just needs to slow down a little and I think these things won't happen so often as it did in the one visit.
