Was a little disappointed after waiting 6 months and going to get permanent dentures. It is a 2 hour drive for me to go the DCOF and I had to go 2 days in a row to get dentures, plus had a long wait during the visit for the lab to do the wax insert and the final denture. Both days I went was an all day experience. I feel the wax try-ins are a waste of time. They tell you it isn't for the fit, but to see how the teeth look. My teeth were adjusted according to how the set with the wax try-in and I don't see how there is any way that can be near accurate when the wax is so loose and moves around on your gums. My final dentures were disappointing, not by look but by how the teeth were arranged. The lower partial is so thick that I cannot wear it and will have to make another trip for adjustment. The upper full plate fit really good the day I got them and I was able to wear them without denture adhesive. I was told that the suction would improve more over the next 7 days and at that point they would be the best they were going to be. Well by day 4 they actually started getting looser. I could eat without adhesive in the beginning but now I have to use an adhesive to be able to eat without them coming loose. The alignment of the teeth is disappointing. I realize the inside of my mouth is a little crooked, but the teeth on the right side are great and the teeth on the side and back on the left "lean" inward too much. When I bite down the teeth on the right make good contact and the teeth on the left are like they need to be adjusted out some. I was also not happy that the 2 days I did this I saw different dentists each time. One preferred a fit one way and the other another. Doesn't make much sense that you don't see the same dentist for final fittings. I will go back to get my dentures adjusted, but after that I will not be returning to DCOF. I chose them because they offered IV sedation for the extractions (which went wonderfully) and the reviews online were mostly 5's. Six months later the reviews are barely a 3!! Am thinking the remodel also included "remodeling" the way they did things and it wasn't an improvement. If I had it to do over, I would have just had my teeth extracted and got temp dentures and gone somewhere else and spent my money on a better fitting denture. I bought the best plan they had, I would hate to see what the lower plans get.
