Went for a second opinion. Never saw these vets before. Charge was to be $54. Never thought i would be leaving without my pet! Vet visit total $477. My dog was put to sleep because vet convinced my son. My son said it was an execution! After vet said dog was gone, my son said he called our pet's name and he rolled his eyes and looked at my son! I believe This vet had ONE chance, he took it! I believe this business is all about how much money they can get while you are under stressful situations! NOT only broke my wallet, they broke my heart. My original vet NEVER suggested killing my pet. Although my vet told us that our pet had cancer, i wanted a second opinion. Big mistake to try to find help from Vet Schumann or anyone with this business.
We understand how hard it can be to lose a loved one and we are very sorry for your loss. Being the only AAHA certified practice in Northern Kentucky we do strive to provide the best medicine at our practice. Broly's weight loss started in early December in which he presented to Dr. Heusing who informed you that his prognosis was very poor, but no diagnosis was made. After Dr. Schumann examined Broly and found him to be severely underweight with a palpable mass in his abdomen he recommended we perform an ultrasound to give you more of a definitive answer. The ultrasound revealed a large abdominal mass in the spleen along with large number of nodules on his liver which is highly suggestive of cancer. After the findings and a discussion with your son, in order to prevent further suffering it was decided to humanely euthanize Broly due to his condition and lack of quality of life. Once again we are sorry for your loss.
