Elite Dental Care replied:

We are sorry to hear that we didn't meet your dental needs. Preventative dentistry (cleanings, exams, x-rays..etc) is our main focus for all of our patients. There are only two reasons why we would not perform a cleaning on a patient that was scheduled for a cleaning. 1. The patient arrives too late into their scheduled time for us to provide a cleaning, this is something we will not rush and try to "squeeze in" to accommodate someone arriving late. We want to do the best job we possibly can for everyone, which is why we allot a specific amount of time for our procedures.

2. If we have a patient come in that has sub-gingival (below the gums) calculus and tartar then we need to perform a deep scaling to remove all of the build-up below the gum line. This is different from a standard cleaning and takes up to an hour and a half to perform, and the patient will most likely need to be numb for this. This is a procedure that would need to be scheduled on a different day to allow our hygienist ample time to provide the best care.
