Our dog was attacked by another dog less than 48 hours ago. She was so injured that we had a difficult time even getting her into the vehicle and we were afraid she might not live long enough to get her to our vet's office, East Valley Animal Hospital. We walked in 5 minutes before they closed for the day at 5:30pm. But they let us take her immediately to an examination room where we only waited a minute for 2 for the lead tech and then the vet. I have been going to this office for as long as I can remember - about 20 years - with our pets. As always, they were kind, compassionate and caring. They did everything they could to comfort Lady, our dog, and my son and myself. Lady needed surgery and even though their office closed at 5:30pm, Dr. Mafara and his staff stayed until 9pm working to save our girl! Once surgery started, Dr. Mafara discovered more damage than first appeared in the x-rays but he did such beautiful work. It has been less than 48 hours since Lady's surgery and it is nothing less than miraculous the recovery we are seeing. She ate last night and stood up briefly. And this morning she got up on her own and walked outside to go potty. Friends that helped us the evening of the attack cannot believe her recovery. Words seem inadequate to express the gratitude we feel for Dr. Mafara and his surgical skills and to his loving staff. They have been there through the many losses of elderly family pets, pet illnesses, and now saving the life of Lady. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all at East Valley Animal Hospital.
