I've been going to Allen's since November 2012. My first visit was because I had won gift cards from 98.1 The Max. I haven't been to another car place since! Allen treats you like family and doesn't BS around. Before he does any work on my car he always let's me know exactly what is going to be done. If he runs across a problem I didn't know about, he'll give me all the information first and then tell me to think on it and get a second opinion if need be. But, I've never needed to because the service there speaks for itself.
You can spend $20 on an oil change at a chain/corporate place - but you won't be paying for quality. As a small/independent business - his work HAS to be superior for him to even be in business. Word travels fast. If he and his team weren't great at what they do, they wouldn't have the regular customers that have been going there for years.
I drive about 30 minutes to go to Allen's and it's always worth it. I'll be a customer of his until I don't have a car anymore! ;)
