I have been coming to the Z Talent salon for years and I have always enjoyed my service, but during this visit I was not pleased. First I had a color appointment with Katie which was amazing! Katie did a fantastic job and I was more that happy with that service. Then I discovered that my haircut appointment had changed both time and stylist, which no one made me aware. When I said something to the receptionist she was very apologetic and I very much appreciated the way she handled the situation. I was not pleased that I had to sit with a towel on my head for an hour and a half. Then when I met my haircut stylist, Kristen, I was very disappointed in the service I recieved. She was very distracted and kept looking around the salon instead of focusing on what she was doing. It took her a long time to dry my already dry hair, then when I told her I just wanted to trim my ends and layers she didn't ask me anything about the shape or what I wanted she just barely cut off 1/4 inch and didn't even attempt to shape my layers the way other stylist have in the past. At this point I wasn't very confident in her skills and was afraid to ask her to do anything else since she seemed so distant and distracted. The bottom line was I paid $25 for a haircut that wasn't worth my time or money. I love this ZSalon but I was so disappointed in the haircut service during this visit. It makes me nervous about scheduling another appointment for fear that I will have to pay for another flop.

Color is not as good as usual: roots now appear very dark and don't blend with rest of head. I went to Z salon (Shelbyville Rd. salon) the very next day for a haircut, and person at register recommended I go back for correction of my problem. However, I prefer not to have 2 color processes so close in time. I am going away for 3 weeks very soon, so the problem can be corrected at my next appt. I switched back to the former colorist who did a good job (time after last), so I plan to ask for a lighter color formula and to have it pulled through. I will take the colorist's recommendations. I am not blaming the colorist - I had a pull through the prior month and looked great, but I never have that process done consecutive months.

10:30 am appointment on Sat June 15 at Highlands. I had received the call the day before about the opening since I was on the waitlist. Arrived at 10:12 am, I checked in by my hairstylist. At 10:35 she comes to me and tells me she is running late. At 10:50, someone else shampoos my hair. At 11:08, my hairstylist starts cutting my hair. This is the first time I had used her since my previous stylist left in Feb. I was really disappointed with the haircut after I got home and examined it closer. Way too short. Choppy in places. It is hard to explain to a new stylist how the former stylist did the cut without photos on file at the salon. I inquired if there were any photos of me on file but never got a response. She was very sweet though. Also I had inquired about eyebrow shaping and I first received a response of "maybe" then the request was overlooked and eventually I was told that nobody was on duty who could do it. I had also run out of time for the eyebrows due to the fact that the hair appt ran so late. Hairstylist told me the Highlands location is short on help, several people on current leave, and it was very evident.

Love the hair cut but get tired of all of the sales pitch on the products every time.....tell me what you use but don't bring it $200 worth of product. To me it's just a slap on the face that it is no longer about me and my hair but how much money i spend

The stylists were especially attentive to me as I described what I wanted done. They were patient and helpful as I looked at pictures of cuts/colors that I liked. The hand and neck and shoulder massages added to a very nice experience. I liked that I was given a list of the products that were used with the opportunity to purchase them but without ANY pressure whatsoever to do so. Stylists were helpful in describing the products' use. ALL staff members were especially friendly. Overall: EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!

Best eyeglass purchase of my life. Exam extremely thorough. For the first time, bifocals were suggested to me and doctor demonstrated the difference they would make in my vision. Found frames that superseded my original concept. Inquired about that frame in tortoise shell and in one minute, associate (Amanda) placed them in my hand. Amanda expertly explained how my new frames would be different than the frameless glasses I had. She even adjusted my old frames (from another retailer) for a better fit.read more …
