While dropping off our two dogs for grooming recently, the young lady who accepted our dogs at reception neglected to write down all of our preferences. Although she assured me she would make a note of everything, she somehow forgot. Or perhaps she herself had planned to do the grooming and so only made a mental note of our preferences and then when another groomer took over, might not have remembered everything to pass on to that groomer.
She had also told us that the dogs would be ready sometime between 2:00 and 3:00pm that day. Since we hadn't received a call by 2:45, we just assumed that it ended up being closer to 3pm, and arrived there a little after 3 to pick them up. For some reason, neither dog was ready until 4:25pm!
As it turned out, the dogs received some order of specialized hand grooming that was not asked of us or explained to us beforehand, which required hourly pay for the groomers!
In the end, everything turned out okay, because the owner took time to listen to us explain the misunderstanding, and then she made a special effort to fix the issues in order to prevent it from happening again, even going so far as to correct the charges.
On our end of it, my daughter and I have now learned the importance of double checking our communication during drop offs, and make sure all notes are written down before we leave.
The most important thing we want to say is that we sincerely appreciate the excellent business practices of this owner/manager. Because of her prompt and thorough attention to this matter, we will visit again and can definitely recommend this business to other dog owner friends and acquaintances in the future.
P.S. My little poodle looked beautiful!!
