The worst service I have ever had (besides the free car ride they gave me home). I went in because my ac was blowing warm and after being quoted a very small price for inspection I left with a huge bill. They never called me to confirm or ask me if they could go ahead and perform this work. After a week of driving my ac again did not work. They said it was leaking and they knew it but went ahead and put freon in there anyway... They wanted another $500 for a part I found online for little over $100 as well as another freon charge that was double the cost anyone else had. Obviously I took my losses from the first trip and didn't have them touch anything else. The half star is for the ride home.

Mr. Ellsworth, I am very sorry for your dissatisfaction with the service at Ron?s Automotive. I have reviewed your invoice and have following observations.

On the first visit in August of 2011 we performed an A/C evaluation for $69.95 plus tax. We found the system low however the leak was too small for the equipment to detect. As part of the diagnostic fee we include installing dye to help identify small leaks unable to be detected with leak detection equipment. At 3:15 PM you were contacted and quoted the cost to Evacuate and Recharge the system at which time you authorized the service and total cost for the visit. You were also informed that there was a small leak that was unable to be found. The system would likely go low again so we warranty the labor to diagnose the system with dye and recharge it after the repair for one year, (a value of $174.90 plus tax) so that you are only charged once for the repair and once for the evacuation and recharge as long as it is in the first year. I don?t know of any other facilities that warranty diagnosis or recharging. The part we quoted was $354.00 not $500.00 and it was a factory part, not a generic part made in China. We warranty our parts 5 years and labor for 3 years so it is imperative that we use the best quality. I called one local dealer and one similar independent shop both that had a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty unlike our 5 year warranty and we were all close in price. Again we are unsure how we could have performed your service in any other way. Respectfully, Ron

Mike was great at communicating what was happening with my daughters car. I had it in 2 times in short order---as it was possible the 'check engine' light might return. I received an itemized bill for visit one, but a blank sheet with a $ amount on visit two. Both times, we picked the car up after hours. I actually would like an itemized bill for the 2nd visit as well.

I think they did a great job diagnosing my emission problems. I also feel that their markups on parts is way to high. They told a part was going to cost $27.99 and I got the part my self for $1.99! Thats quite a difference. Labor charge was reasonable.

I was very pleased with the assessment of repairs necessary as observed in their manufacturers recommended inspection. The repairs were accomplished in a very timely manner and within the estimate indicated. I have relied on Ron's Automotive expertise to keep my '97 Chrysler Town & Country minivan with over 180,000 miles in top notch road readiness during the five years living in Vancouver. They always thoroughly explain the how and why of the repairs. I definitely recommend Ron's Automotive.

I went to Ron's for an oil and filter change, and the work was don't quickly and efficiently. Their shop is close to my house which is good, and they didn't try to sell me a bunch of services/parts I didn't need which is better. It's hard to find automotive shops that are honest, and who do good work. At Ron's they do both. I will definitely use them for all my automotive needs in the future.
