The new patient process was very satisfactory, quick and easy. However they did not inform me that I could not combine the new patient visit with a cleaning on the same visit. Which was inconvenient. I found the office staff was very polite. The tech that was in charge of my x-rays was somewhat aloof to the fact that my head was on the x-ray machine and was talking and visiting with other staff members. I had to remind her that I was there and ask if the process was done or not. The dentist and tech were proficient and knowledgeable, however I was not informed fully regarding my cavities and treatment plan until after I was escorted out of the patient care area. The financial/patient advocate lady was very nice and courteous. After my initial exam I was very upset regarding the lack of information and time spent. I also was not given the opportunity at the time of my exam and learning about having cavities to ask questions. This is the main reason for my average score. The tech did, while in the financial office, answer my questions after I expressed my concern and disappointment. My next appointment was promptly made for my cleaning and cavity fillings. I have no complaints other than they did not ask if I had any questions, was not given the opportunity to ask questions, nothing was explained, and I felt at times during my initial visit that they were not devoting full attention to my dental needs. I will continue using My Dentist and Dr. Opus because my second visit and fillings were better explained and handled accordingly. I do believe it would be beneficial to other patients and parents if the staff could be reminded that while they are dental proficient and know the in's and outs of dentistry, the general public does not and they need to take that moment to explain, be courteous, and communicate with their patients.
