I went to Midwest Dental to be turned away due to high blood pressure. A new appointment was made and blood pressure was border line. Doctor asked does this bother you at night. Wanting to have the pain relieved I said occasionally. Doctor then said "you need a root canal then". After breaking a tool in my tooth the next patient had been waiting. The doctor goes into the next room and asks does this bother you at night? Patient replies sometimes and guess what doctor said? "Oh you must need a root canal. Root canal has become infected in less than 1 year and I am going to lose the tooth. In short if this guy says you need a root canal I would get a second opinion!

the office staff and the chair side assistant were absolutely wonderful. They smiled, talked to you kindly, explained the different procedures and looked up all the costs for me. Since I am one of those people who are traumatized by going to the dentist, their kindness helped to ease my fear. On the opposite side we have Dr. Taran who didn't even look me in the eye or talk to me face to face. Instead, he sat behind me and made demeaning comments which were in my opinion were quite upsetting. I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he just needs to improve his chair side manners. He wasn't like that the last time, but actions like this are what cause people like me not to want to come back which ultimately results in poor oral care.

Dr Taran was fantastic! I DO NOT like having ANY dental work - not even cleaning. He made my visit very pleasant and it wasn't a quarter as bad as I was expecting. It was a deep filling in the top right and that top work can be very painful to numb and work on. He was very gentle. A previous dentist said I had a VERY, VERY sensitive mouth. He could tell this from working on my teeth over the years.

Carrie, their fantastic Dental Hygenist is very good also. The office has always known my "feelings" towards these appointments and they make my visits as enjoyable as possible. The Kewanee office has a GREAT STAFF.

I was very impressed with the job they did. I only felt pressure. I was really scared coming into it, because the last tooth I had pulled that dentist ( from another place) made it hurt really bad! The only thing I have experienced that I have had been bleeding still not a lot tho. I do wish I would've recieved some medication, Because my mouth does hurt and ibeprofin works for about 30 min to an hour. Other than that I was very impressed.
