I have been terrified of dentists since I was small. The anxiety always starts the morning of my appointments and just gets worse through the day, usually resulting in tears in the dentist's chair. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Goldstein saying that he is the most understanding, and friendly dentist I could find. I decided to take a chance.
When I walked into the office I was WARMLY greeted by the young ladies behind the desk. They introduced them selves and really tried to make me comfortable. Linda the dental assistant was patient with me and explained everything that she was going to do in detail. She made sure I understood what she was going to do and why.
When Dr. Goldstein came in to do his exam he was calm, patient, and VERY understanding of my fear. He treated me like I was a real person and not a paycheck, or the next appointment to get rid of. Both the Dr. and his assistant were extremely careful how they placed instruments in my mouth so that they did not accidently hurt or scare me.
When the exam was over the Dr. invited me into his office to discuss what exactly my options were. When he said he meant to answer all of my questions I felt that he meant it. He then spent over an hour actually answering all of my questions. I walked out of the office feeling secure about the upcoming procedure. I had no concerns or questions.
For the first time in my life I am a little excited about going to see a dentist. I have no fear of this office and the wonderful people who staff it. I'm still nervous. I suppose years of fear can't go away in one visit, but I am amazed at how fantastic this office is.
