I have a VW Eurovan which is finicky. Even an alignment requires precision and skill. Recently, I found Animas Automotive. I pre-screened before making an appointment. I explained to that I needed the camber aligned and that it required a specific tool. The man on the phone assured me that they had worked on the Eurovan and that they would have no problem doing a full and proper alignment. I showed up at 8 am. An hour later, the mechanic said I was ready to go but that the camber was not adjustable. Uuuugh. So I explained, directly to the mechanic, that, yes it is, it needs a specific type of wrench. The two guys looked at me like I was crazy. Only then did they actually look up the specifications. Three more hours and they finally figured it out. They wanted to charge me labor for the first hour, even though they simply re-aligned the toe. I said that I would not pay for the first hour, as they did not do what I asked them to do: align the camber. They acted as if they were doing me a favor by knocking off that hour. They repeatedly tried to blame it on the vehicle and made a variety of other excuses. Then it took them 40+ minutes just to get me an invoice. In the end, I drove over 100 miles, wasted over 6 hours (including driving) of MY time, and paid over $200 for an alignment.
