Thank you so much for your gentleness and professionalism. I also received a phone call today to check on my well being. It's sure nice to work with somebody who really cares. Hope your office has a beautiful holiday season!
I have a lot of confidence in the treatment and opticals I receive here. Over the years my family has seen several of the opticians here and all have been competent and professional. The eye exams are very thorough as are the refractive exams. Dr. Richard Weiss has been my opthamologist for at least 25 years, updates me thoroughly at each visit, answers any questions I may have and informs me clearly of my options. I am a diabetic who has had close relatives with diabetes lose their eyesight to retinopathy. I also had, until my cataract surgery which he performed last year at his related facility (he also offers patients the option of having it performed at the hospital), a very severe nearsightedness with astigmatism which required my wearing gas permeable contact lenses for the last 50 years. With the cataract surgery, my eyesight is 20/25 and I am very pleased with the results, both in the eyesight improvement and the clarity of vision removing the cataracts and the insertion of the cataract lenses provided. They are supplied with a variety of catarct lenses which the doctor chooses to tailor to the patient's individual particular needs and eye conditions. I am encouraged to call or come in whenever I have a concern and find appointments prompt and treatment professional. I have had few problems with the lenses I have been prescribed and the one I did have was corrected without charge. The attached optical department has a large selection of attractive eyewear sorted by gender and age, including many designer frames as well as many nice and more affordable options, some of which are entirely covered by insurance, or you can bring in your old frames and they will put your prescription lenses in them. They encourage you to come in and be fitted personally when you pickup your glasses and to bring them back for any adjustment. We have had them repolished here in the past to remove scratches. They offer various levels of scratch coating protection, transition lenses, anti-reflective lenses and lighter weight lenses and clearly explain the differences in cost and value of each. They don't do a hard sell here and try to fit you with what you need and not more. There are many on staff in the optical department and they are very well trained. They are open Saturday mornings, which has worked out well for my husband who does not want to take off work for appointments on weekdays. I decided to come in the Friday before my appointment which was early on Monday morning to choose frames because I didn't want to try to do so with my eyes dilated. Spanish speaking clients will find a home here as well. The woman, Gisella, who helped me choose my eyewear was very friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable and able to quickly sort through the eyeglass frames which were both suitable and attractive for me, as well as finding hyperallegenic ones I could wear because of my nickel allergy. There was a drawing from a fishbowl which resulted in my frames being 50% off which, along with our insurance, made even these expensive Cartier frames made of titanium affordable for me, which is important as I am now on Social Security. My husband, son and I have all used this doctor and some of this large practice of related optometrists for years and been pleased with the results. The facilities are very nice, clean, and well equipped with plenty of comfortable chairs, magazines, and free beverages. We have always gone to the Day Road site, but there are related facilities in South Bend, Elkhart, Goshen, and Plymouth as well. A quiet educational video (rather than a Fox News or CNN channel) runs in the lobby introducing the doctors at the practice and explaining common eye problems and solutions that I find my self watching whenver I am there and find it useful and not an annying blare. Over the years my son, who has gone there since he was born and was particularly rough on glasses because of his participation in various sports has had frames repaired and replaced without extra charge while still under the one year warranty. I always bought him the Flexon frames because of their ability to bend and not break. People tell me you can buy glasses more cheaply off the internet with a eye exam prescription or at one of the chain optical stores, but I always feel you get what you pay for and I don't feel they are unreasonably priced here, especially with the services they provide.
I always receive the best care and service for my animals at Noah's Landing. This emergency with Brewster was the worst of injuries I have ever had to deal with on any of my animals and I walked right in the door Monday am and they ALWAYS make time for emergencies. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Thompson this time and she is just as wonderful and the other two doctors. I am very very happy being a client of Noah's. We have been with them for 15+ years and love the entire staff at Noah's.
I was amazed to learn that with this latest emergency on my cat Dr. Thompson went back to the clinic each night after closing hours just to give my Brewster his pain meds. Wonderful wonderful clinic and staff.
