My husband and I have owned a business for many years and we do know that...It is illegal to have a $40. min. and tacky to post a sign for a 3% surcharge! Google it! Banks frown on it...it is not their policy. Get a new bank! I am a hairdresser as well...and I have never seen this in a salon ever! Poor customer service! In a age of debit cards galore there is no excuse! Factor it into your prices! You could offer a discount for cash for the seniors...Shame on you, Denise!

I'm sorry that you disagree with our policies here at the salon. Over the years expenses have increased, as you may well know, but I try not to raise my prices.. The banks have no problem charging the consumer for everything. Why would I want to incorporate an extra charge on those who choose not to use a debit card or a credit card. We don't even charge the full 4% that I am legally allowed to charge. You may want to pay more attention to when you are surcharged for using your debit or credit card. Especially at the gas stations or at an ATM. We would prefer for our clients to use checks or cash. .We feel that we are in a price sensitive area that we don't want to have to always raise our prices. By Law I must post a sign. We offer people a choice of paying by cash, or credit card or check. It is there choice to incur the fee. Thank You for your patronage and we hope you will visit us again. I know you enjoyed your pedicure with Monica, and our front desk addressed your concern in a friendly manner. We pride ourselves on great customer service and we are sorry you felt that way.
