I'd like to start with this - despite my concerns, the cut and color I received are acceptable. BUT - the stylist changed the formula suggested by the instructor and left the color to process for 50 minutes. Given the instructor said 20 I was willing to be flexible until we passed the 30 minute mark but 50 really seemed pushing it. I seriously was in the chair wondering if my hair was going to fall out or something! Second, I only wanted a clean up of an existing style. Instead he took a fair bit off the front and, though I didn't realize until after I'd left, gave me an asymmetrical long bob. I was aiming for the dramatic wedge cut I had and really just needed the back trimmed out again. The cut is fine but it's not a style I can really rock - it just feels and looks off to me. I receive plenty of compliments so I probably shouldn't complain. But - it isn't what I asked for.
The stylist was extremely polite, asked great questions and clearly wanted to please. We had a great conversation. I enjoy Aveda and would continue to recommend it however; I've had some experiences recently that have lead me to be more hesitant to make an appointment than I have been in the past.
