It was a wonderful experience. Jax, my stylist, listened to what I wanted and spent time to make sure the color and cut was simply perfect. She was such a pleasure with her genuine smile and professional attention to detail. It was clear from the start that she loves what she does and takes great pride in her work. The educators that worked with Jax were patient and very interested in making sure the visit was enjoyable.

I've been an avid fan of AFI Indy since it opened and have always recommended it to friends, coworkers and even strangers! The services are stellar, you know the products are quality and the price is right!

But... honestly I've been sadly disappointed this year. I've had a few things done - I typically visit for a haircut and one of the reasons I come is because of the neck and shoulder massage. I always ask specifically for a scalp massage because I suffer from terrible migraines and (in the past) a visit to AFI has been a surefire way to prevent them. I've also always been willing to pay extra for the additional time if necessary. For my last three visits the massage wasn't offered or the student spent a very short, very inattentive time doing it. One of these services was a perm. Now I know that the the neck/shoulder massage isn't offered in this case however; the student didn't offer to do the arm/hand thing either. And the perm - what a mess. Literally and figuratively. She SOAKED me to the bone, ruined the shirt I was wearing completely, gave me a chemical burn, chattered on the entire time she and another student were rolling about how she hated perms because she didn't like to wait... and then the perm fell out in less than three weeks. Honestly the chemical burn took longer to heal. For $60+ this was SUCH a disappointment.

This visit was followed by another visit wherein the instructor didn't seem to really hear what I wanted, took over from the student and basically gave me this Keith Partridge looking style that's an absolute nightmare and will take forever to grow out. She kept telling me that I couldn't have the cut I was asking for- I kept trying to explain that I'd had my hair cut that way throughout high school... so I know that I could, I knew that's what I wanted, etc.

I'd give 3.5 stars if I could because I think these bad experiences were due to people, not the school itself, but that's not an option. And prior to this year I'd say flat out 5 stars. But I've been bummed and frankly reluctant to return because it's a 40 minute drive for me to end up leaving frustrated. Additionally, it would be nice if patrons were given their form to fill out on their way up to the checkout desk. I always try to write something resume applicable on my form, especially when the service was great or the student took extra time to establish what I was looking for or understand my needs. But it's difficult to provide constructive feedback with the recipient staring down at me while I write or reading the paper on our way up for payment.

Had the most wonderful experience on Monday. Beautiful haircut, relaxing back and neck massage, facial, etc. Brought in some photos and my hair turned out perfect!! Have been going to Aveda for over a year, and it is just wonderful!

I went in for a Hair color retouch and had an excellent experience. The stylist was very attentive to what I wanted. Sometimes I have an issue with the stylist not being proactive enough to keep the hair color off my skin (I have dark hair and I am fair skinned, getting a glob of color on my forehead is NOT very attractive). I wish I could remember the stylists name, she did a great job.

Shannon was outstanding today!!!

I rarely if ever have a bad experience here. The instructors are wonderful and the students are careful and considerate. They ask questions and try to find out what you want and need.

My one complaint is the wash bowls for highlighting treatments are horribly uncomfortable. The chairs do not recline easily so you are sitting in an uncomfortable position. I also recommend more padded neck cushions for the wash bowls and the sinks in the blue room. :)

This was my 3rd time at Aveda and it was the best experience. My color turned out Better than I expected and I received a nice facial massage and great service. I've received several compliments :)

I have been going to Aveda for 4 years or more. I always have a wonderful experience and professional cut and/or color. Madelyn (sorry if I misspelled your name) was my stylist this past visit. Althought she was relatively new on the floor, her professionalism and cut were superb. My first question to her was "will you be graduating soon?" I felt horrible not being able to leave her a tip. Good luck to her in her future, I wish I could ask for her my next visit. I love my haircut. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Great service! Not only did I get a great haircut, but I loved the light back massage and facial! Just give yourself plenty of time to be pampered.
