I was thoroughly surprised when I showed up and found out that my hygienist was gone and no longer works there. To me, a good hygienist is personal and hard to come by. It is almost the same as a hair dresser. I wish I had known and I wish I was given the choice to indicate my preference for the replacement hygienist. The new one "assigned" to me did not use the same techniques as the one I used to have and familiar with. I did not come out of the office feeling as clean as before.
It also would have been nice to be seen by the dentist, even briefly, so she can briefly check on my status. Not that I had any issues with my teeth. I thought it was just good practice to catch up with the customers. It is all about being service oriented.
