Had a crown done 4-5 years ago. Dr W. drilled one root to far and did not tell me he did it. Kinda hard to not notice when its your mouth being drilled and his face is right there grunting "Oh no". Came back for crown install his male assistant fits the crown. When he numbs you with the pump thing, he sticks the needle in your gum then is suddenly very preoccupied with organizing the office. Meanwhile the hand holding the needle sorta slides down a little pulling the needle with it causing wonderful pain sensations. This happened every time he re-stuck that needle in my mouth. Went back to room across hall and all i can remember is sitting in that chair biting down and hearing a loud pop sound.
I didn't know it yet but the crown had failed. Long story short, over next few weeks i developed this bad taste in my mouth that got worse and worse. Then the crown became loose till it fell out. I had to keep putting it back in place. The bad taste became unbearable, i returned and just had everything removed. That cost me another $500 on top of the $2k i had already layed out. As soon as he pulled out the root, my face swelled up from the infection and i was prescribed anti-biotics. 3 days for swelling to go down. The female hygienist was a truly compassionate professional.
