5 stars CHI/CHRIS S Featured review
For starter I want to give Gary, the mechanic-owner and his very courteous and knowledgable staff a five-star rating.
I've been going to MIJMIA for over two years for major repairs and this last round, Johnny the mechanic, had my 2003 Camry humming like new at 210K plus miles.
The first compliment is from my daughter who also brought her 1999 Dodge Durango in the same time I brought mine in, and told me that she liked how they didn't talk down to us as women. They didn't patronize or dismissive us of our concerns about our cars. Instead Gary, the owner talked to us in details about what's going on with the car and emailed us an itemizations of time and materials so we could review the issues afterward, discuss them with our significant others and decide what we wanted to do with the cars. Gary then waited for us to give him authorization before any work is to be done.
The second compliment came from my husband who test drove my Camry when I brought it home and told my college son on a phone call that "your mom's car rides really sweet now!"
This made me feel good because I felt responsible for personally found MIJMIA after reading their online reviews and the enticing invite was their new customer's coupon. Had they been bad mechanics, I would have felt like I was a poorly researched consumer!
As for me, having a trustworthy, personable, respectable and well spoken mechanic/owner is very important. I had major work done on my Camry because it has a lot of miles, but now I can keep my car instead of having huge monthly car payments. I completely feel safe driving my car now.
If you don't have an alternative for transportation while your car is in the shop, Gary doesn't have a loaner car but he could hook you up with very reasonable wholesale car rental rates through his shop. I'm not sure if I can say this --hope it's ok.
Let just say that my Camry had something done equivalent to an open heart surgery and now it rides smooth and quiet, smogged with beautiful numbers! I won't bore you with an itemization of things done and how many hours spent trouble-shooting the evap system to see if there's any leak and replacing hoses along the way. Johnny is an excellent and personable mechanic. He has pride in his work and tireless spent tracing my exhaust system till he found the sensor as the culprit!
I appreciate Gary also for his hiring of the best in the class, not sure what the institute is where mechanics learned their trade locally, but also that he hired a capable veteran. That was frosting on the cake for me to know that I do business with people with not only integrity but whom giving respect and opportunity to our veterans.
Gary runs a clean shop and seemingly tightly knit staff. I worked with both Johnny and Aaron and his previous service manager Victor. He has a new manager Kevin who is also very personable and helpful.
Overall, the price is right, the duration of time my car in the shop is reasonable, and the result of their work is excellent. I'm more than happy to recommend them to anyone. Please do keep in mind that if you want a quick fix and not be informed of what else is going on with the car then they are not the place for you. I personally want to know what's going on peripherally because I don't want to get stranded on a long trip. Also, I know that good detailed works do take time. I would no more rush my dentist on a filling or an oral surgeon on my tooth canal.
Enough said, if you are looking for a new mechanic, you will be very pleased to work with these folks. Again, I give them five stars and highly recommend them. Keep up the good work guys!

Awesome people! I had (have) an unusual situation where rats in my garage were snacking on my hoses and plastic parts causing all sorts of havoc to my engine. They worked with me and my insurance company to maximize my insurance proceeds and get the job done. My car runs great now!

Excellent and informative service. They went the extra mile to track down a problem that even the dealership couldn't find.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff was careful to explain all findings, costs and recommendations. They found and fixed a loose wire when another repair shop couldn't.

Car repairs were made quickly. This shop diagnosed a mechanical issue that 2 other mechanics had missed which shows how detail oriented they are. Customer service is outstanding.

After visiting 2 prior well known corporate repair shops that had done work on my car and still a problem existed, I took my car to Made in America-Made in Japan who did a thorough run down of my car, gave me great reccomendations including order of which repairs needed to be fixed and estimated length of time i had left before i had to make the repair without ruining the car and they fixed the problem my car was having, courteous, professional, listened when i talked and priced right with great online discounts. Guaranteed their work and told me to bring the car back if the problem re-occured at no cost because i had all ready paid for diagnostics. Will most definitely be back in Feb to fix my thermostat housing and water pump!!! See ya soon guys, I appreciate you and so does my car!!!!!!
